On 15 March we will celebrate the first Scrutiny at the 8.30am Mass. After completing their time of formation, Tristan, Ling, Donatella and Anne were presented along with many others from parishes in the Diocese, to Archbishop Costelloe and Bishop Sproxton at the Rite of Election in St Mary’s Cathedral. Ling and Tristan are now numbered among the Elect preparing for Baptism, whilst Donatella and Anne are candidates for Confirmation, both of which will be celebrated at the Easter Vigil. During these weeks of Lent as the Elect and Candidates reflect on their next step in faith, we pray for them at the Scrutinies and Presentations of the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer, that they will be well prepared to receive the Sacraments and celebrate the new life of the Easter season with us.
